INTRODUCTORY TEXT FOR YOUR CONCERT ORGANISATION

Michel Tirabosco was born in Rome to an Italian father and a Swiss mother. At the age of 7 he is presented with panpipes, the only instrument suitable to his morphology. What a revelation! From gypsy tunes to Slavonic danses, from Bach to Vivaldi, his exceptionally good ear for music is very soon revealed.

He studies music, graduating with a Certificate of Flute with panpipes (with congratulations from the jury) as well as a Diploma of Musical Culture from the Geneva Music Academy (Conservatoire Supérieur), also obtaining the prize of the State Council. At the age of 16 he is invited to perform a concerto with a symphonic orchestra. He is considered to be the young prodigy of panpipes. Two years later he makes his first recording.

He is 20 years old when he is invited on a tour of Ecuador and Argentina with the pianist, Miguel Angel Estrella. This marks the beginning of a great international career, leading him to perform throughout Europe, as well as in Korea, Brazil, the United States and Australia. To date, he has recorded 15 CDs as a duo, a quartet or with a large orchestra.
